Raw Vegan Banana Ice Cream

I like ice cream very much and that’s why I’ve decided to share with you a magic trick to make a creamy ice cream with just one ingredient. Yes, that’s right: just one ingredient — and no ice cream maker needed!

Raw Vegan Banana Ice Cream

Bananas can make a pretty fabulous ice cream that is excellent if you are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-allergic or on a no-added-sugar diet.

Ingredients:
2 large ripe bananas
Ginger Sauce (optional):
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
a handful of walnuts

How It’s Made?
Step 1: Peel the bananas and cut them into coins.
Step 2: Put the bananas in an airtight container and freeze them for at least 2 hours, but ideally overnight.
Step 3: Blend the frozen banana pieces in a small food processor or powerful blender. At first the banana pieces will look crumbled or smashed. Scrape down the food processor. Then it will look gooey, like banana mush. It will get smoother, but it will still have chunks of banana in it. Scrape down the food processor.
Step 4: Suddenly, as the last bits of banana smooth out, you’ll see the mixture shift from blended banana to creamy, soft-serve ice cream texture. Blend for a few more seconds to aerate the ice cream.
Step 5: You can eat the ice cream immediately, but it will be quite soft. You can also transfer it back into the airtight container and freeze it until solid.
Step 6: Mix honey, ginger and turmeric together.
Step 7: Add walnuts over the banana ice cream and spread over the sauce. Serve immediately!
